Chevak Alaska Bird Tours   

Lifelong Chevak resident Andrew Boyscout is the owner and principal guide of Chevak Alaska Bird Tours. Andrew brings an intimate knowledge of the land, people and history. He prepared a place name mapping atlas of the region showing where people of the region live, hunt, fish, and move, with information gathered through extensive interviews. Most recently, Andrew has been directing the development of a conservation plan for the villages of Chevak, Scammon Bay, Newtok, Hooper Bay, Paimiut in partnership with Purdue University and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Andrew holds a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine license, is certified in First Aid, and participates in village search and rescues. He guided for the University of Alaska Summer Teacher Institute for three years. In 2003, he traveled to Malawai and visited the pyramids in Egypt. Cup’ik is Andrew’s first language and he is a subsistence hunter and fisherman.
